Agnes Rhodes Parton
1922 - 2015
Agnes Rhodes Parton, age 92, of Pelham, AL died Saturday, February 21, 2015, at Shelby Baptist Hospital in Alabaster.
Mrs. Parton was a native of Jefferson County, where she lived most of her life. She was a member of New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a former member of Crescent Heights Baptist Church of Lipscomb.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur L. Parton; daughter, Julia Parton Crabtree; parents, Alvin and Mayo Rhodes; and six siblings.
Mrs. Parton is survived by her son, Gerald L. Parton; daughter, Janice Parton Wilson; two grandchildren, Kristi Parton Christian (Richard) and Phillip Sean Wilson; and two great-grandchildren, Hannah and Hayleigh Christian.
A graveside service will be held Monday, February 23, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Valhalla Cemetery, with Donny Acton officiating. There will not be a visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 5521 Double Oak Lane, Birmingham, AL 35242
