Amanda McKinney Hawkins, age 58, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 16, in College Station, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; Robert Gordon McKinney and Nona Martin McKinney as well as a brother, Earl Gordon McKinney. She graduated from West End High School in 1974 and from Saint Vincent''s School of Nursing in 1977. Her humor and wit will be missed by those that knew her.

She is survived by her two sons, Christopher Hawkins and Jeremy (Natalie) Hawkins and a Grandson, Michael Allen Hawkins as well as her brother Glen (Robbin) McKinney and sister Bonita (Bobby) McKinney Patton and several nephews and nieces.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 23rd at Valhalla Funeral Home in Midfield. Visitation will start at 11 AM with chapel services starting at 12 PM. The Rev. Jim Savage from Riverchase United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Valhalla Cemetery.
