Ann was a native and life long resident of Jefferson County where she was a graduate of Phillips High School.She retired from The Birmingham News with thirty years of service and was a member of the Echota Cherokee Tribe. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Roy Brown and Edna Lee Massey Brown.

She is survived by two brothers, Kenneth Brown and Jay E. Brown (Carol); one sister, Mickey Naro (Phillip); a niece, Haley Brown; four nephews, David Naro, Michael Naro, Brian Naro, and Scott Brown; four great nieces and two great nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Echota Building Fund in honor of Anita Brown, The Echota Cherokee Tribe, P. O. Box 830, Vinemont, Alabama 35179.
