Myers, Anita Wood, age 88, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2018 at her home. She was born in Anniston, Alabama on August 1, 1930 to Charles H. and Mildred Wood. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, W. L. "Bill" Myers, her parents, a sister, Dorothy Grace McCarn and a brother, Charles H. Wood, Jr.

She is survived by her three children, Lee Myers of Midfield, Al, John (Vicki) Myers of Sylvan Springs, AL and Carol (J. C.) Rouse of Vestavia, AL; 6 grandchildren: Shane Myers of Mulga, Al, Kevin (Ashlie) Rouse of Vestavia, AL, Jennifer (Simon) Sharpe of Alexander City, AL, Courtland (LaTonya) Myers of Hueytown, AL, Jeffrey (Tiffany) Rouse of Gardendale, AL and Billy (Amber) Myers of Piedmont, S.C.; 4 great grandchildren, Seth Rouse, Hannah Rouse, Bailey Myers and Griffin Rouse; sisters, Audrey Hurst, Maida Bowden and Wanda Hall; brother, Robert Wood and a host of nieces and nephews. A very special thank you to Nancy Molten who provided much love, care and support over the past 8 years.

Anita was an avid bowler and love of Alabama football but her greatest joy was her grandchildren. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held at Valhalla Funeral Home in Midfield on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. followed by the funeral service at 2:00 P.M. Burial will follow at Valhalla Cemetery.
