Annette Holland Funderburg was born October 8, 1928 and she died March 15, 2015. She was a graduate of Jones Valley High School class of 1947 and in the National Honor Society. She helped plan and organize many class reunions and loved her classmates dearly. In her own words from the 50th year reunion book: "Although I am not wealthy, I have involved myself in various activities. (Jack of all trades, Master of none) Active in Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, deeply involved in PTA, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts when the children were young. Love to dabble in the stock market."
She served her church and community generously. For many years there wasn''t a meal served she didn''t help plan and prepare at church. She worked hard at all three schools, in PTA, Pleasant Grove Elementary, Woodward Elementary and Pleasant Grove High School.
She loved her circle the Agape group and her Sunday School Class.
She was married to Robert Earl Funderburg on November 3, 1950. They were married 53 years when he died. She is preceded in death by parents, Harrison S. and Madge Holland; brothers, Gene Holland and Harrison Sherman Holland, Jr.; four nephews.
She is survived by her brother, Kenneth Holland and sisters Faye Devenyns and Wanda Trainer; three children; Karen F. Dodson, Nancy F. Price and Robert Bruce Funderburg; two grandchildren, Adam Blake Dodson and Brooke Dodson Self; three great grandchildren; Madison McCollough, Bryant Dodson and Bella Dodson. She loved her family and valued their opinions.
She loved the holidays and always made Christmas special. Lots of good food, good company and lots of presents.
She had high standards and led by example. She loved to laugh and made those around her laugh. She worked until she could not work and volunteered in the Pink Ladies at HealthSouth after retiring.
She is missed already and will always be in our hearts.
