Barbara Gail Colson, age 86 of Birmingham, AL passed away on August 24, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents Cecil and Margaret Steed and her husband of 24 years Roy Scott Colson, II.

Barbara was a proud graduate of West End High and grew up in West End Baptist Church. She was a dedicated public servant who enjoyed giving back to others and retired after 25 years of service from the Internal Revenue Service. Barbara possessed a quiet strength and in a time when it was difficult for women to advance professionally  she did.

Barbara was a loving and proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was inordinately proud of her only son Scotty. Her favorite hobbies were dancing and spending time at the beach house and with her family making memories.

She leaves to cherish her memories her only son, Roy Scott Colson, III; daughter in law, Janet Colson; granddaughter, Haley(Zack) Lewis; two grandsons, Jack Colson and Andrew (Kelsey) Colson; two great grandchildren, Vivian and Colson Lewis and many other relatives and friends.
