Barb was born on June 1, 1947. Her parents, Albert and Josie Thornton preceded her in death. At a young age she accepted Christ and became a member of Saint John A. M. E. Church. Barbara attended the Birmingham Public schools and graduated from A. H. Parker High School in 1965.  She was a loving caregiver to numerous small children and was employed at the Helms Photography Studio.  On January 13, 2022, she transitioned to eternal life.

Sisters-Sandra (Wilson) Stevenson, Priscilla (Lewis) Ray, Karen Wilson, and Cynthia Stepter, Tuscaloosa, Alabama

Brothers- Albert Thornton, III, Alan (Cheryl) Thornton, Sandy English and Tyrone English, Atlanta Georgia, and Chambliss (Wilma) English, Chicago, Illinois

Additionally, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends will miss her dearly as well.
