Bernice Windham was born to Samuel Sturdivant and Mary Sturdivant on March 14, 1930 in Bessemer, Alabama.

She confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Shady Grove Missionary Church under the leadership of Pastor Sloan. She was educated in the Bessemer School System. She later met and married the late Alfred Windham.  Bernice was employed as a homemaker.

The Lord granted her peace from this side on August 17, 2022.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Samuel Sturdivant; daughter, Linda Crawford and two brothers, Jimmy and Samuel Sturdivant, Jr.

Those left with fond memories: one daughter, Diane Crawford, Bessemer, AL; five grandsons, Antonio (Linda) and Desmond (Joy) both of Bessemer, AL; Chris, Kelvin and Wayne all of Dayton, OH; two granddaughters, Lindsay and Heather both of Dayton, OH; one special son, James Johnson; one special niece, Sandra Crenshaw and a special nephew, Micheal Sturdivant; anda host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a special friends, Belinda Gray, Sarah Dial, Carol Petty and Gwen Warren.
