IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Bertie Jo
Adams
June 8, 1938 – August 17, 2025
Bertie Jo (Grafton) Adams, age 87, of Midfield, Alabama, passed away peacefully at her home on August 17, 2025. She faithfully served Wilkes Baptist Church and Christian Walk Baptist Church, for over 70+ years beginning at 16 when she began to play the organ and piano. She also taught Sunday School for majority of her life. Everyone who knew Jo, loved her. She played for countless weddings and funerals over the years. She was always the first to volunteer because she had a true servant's heart. She loved her church, loved the Lord, and devoted her life to serve him. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister and her beloved husband of 50 years, James "Ron" Adams.
She is survived by her sons, Kevin (Kelly) and Stephen (Astra). She was a devoted mother and grandmother! She is survived by her grandchildren, Makenzie, Aidan, Maeve, Adyson, Emma and Caleb (Monica) and great-grandchildren, Michael & Ella and 2 brother-in-laws & a host of nieces, nephews and life long friends. During football season, she was a devoted Alabama fan, making sure she wore her Bama gear and loved to yell at the games. She made it a point to read articles and learn the stats about the team, so she could sit down with her boys and discuss Alabama Football. She was the ultimate hostess, always loving to cook and fill the house with laughter and wonderful fellowship. Jo managed to balance home life, raising her boys and being a devoted wife, plus, she retired from 2 companies, Alagasco and Princeton Baptist Medical. Her life was a living testimony. She loved being a grandmother, making sure that she had a special relationship with each of them. Her legacy will carry on through her sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren. She has been described as faithful, devoted, loyal, loving, joyful and giving. (and terribly stubborn) She is already greatly missed. We rejoice in knowing that she is home with her husband, family and friends. She has finished her race and now in the presence of Jesus as He welcomed her home and said, "well done my good and faithful servant".
