Bette Ruth (B.R.) Smith Ferguson died Sunday, December 2, 2018. She was a Birmingham native born April 14, 1930.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry h. Ferguson, Jr., her parents, James Otis Smith and Ruth Davis Smith.
Ruth graduated from Phillips High School and earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, AL. She was a member of the Denny Society and a University of Alabama Donor funding many scholarships.
A graveside will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Valhalla Cemetery in Birmingham, AL. Rev. Michael Bailey of First Presbyterian Church of Tuscaloosa officiating.
