Bettie G. Stewart, age 86, of McCalla, AL passed away on Friday, September 19, 2014 in Bessemer, AL. She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Stewart; a sister, Delma Ray and a brother, Hillard "Buddy" Goodwin.

Ms. Stewart was a native and life long resident of Jefferson County and was a member of the Parkway Baptist Church in McCalla, AL.

She is survived by one daughter, Iris Knight (Johnnie Vaughn); two grandchildren, Joshua Andrew Knight and John Allen Knight, Jr.

Services will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Valhalla Chapel at 12 noon with Brother T. K. Dailey officiating.. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at Valhalla Funeral Home. Burial will be in Valhalla Cemetery
