Betty Virginia Blackwell Bailey, age 85, of Midfield passed away on May 27, 2018 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Bud" Bailey and her parents, John and Nellie Blackwell.

Mrs. Bailey was a native of Atlanta, Georgia and was raised in Chicago during her early life. She later  came to Jefferson County where she lived most of her life. She was a member of the Baptist faith and a former member of the Midfield Baptist Church. She was retired from DSW Converting Knives.

Mrs. Bailey is survived by three sons; James Donald Bailey (Edie), David Glen Bailey (Velinda), and Daniel Mark Bailey; a daughter, Deborah Parsons (Jimmy); four grandchildren; Jessica Scribner, Marceline Harchuck (Jason), Chelsie Woods (Olivia), and James Taylor Parsons; a brother, John Blackwell (Barbara) and a sister, Barbara Middlebrooks (Gerald); numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 1:30 P.M. at Valhalla Chapel with Josh Turner officiating. Burial was in Highland Cemetery. The family received friends from 11:30 until funeral time at the funeral home.
