Harvel. Elizabeth "Betty" Fields Harvel, age 86, of Alabaster went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 31st, 2010. Originally from Jasper, she was the daughter of the late Rev. And Mrs. Grady Fields and was also preceded in death by her brother Malcolm Fields and sister Mildred Fields
Keith. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Doug and Kim Harvel, granddaughters Michelle Harvel Harper (Kevin), Andrea Harvel Holsomback (Jason), great-grandchildren Webb Harper, Ann Ellis Harper and Jackson Harvel. She is also survived by her sister, Jeanette Felkins (Ray), brothers Robert Fields (Peggy), and Jim Fields (Nell). Ms. Harvel also had a great number of nephews, nieces and a host of friends.
Ms. Betty, as she was called, was a graduate of Walker County High School. She was a also a member of Westwood Baptist Church and Community Baptist Church for 28 years.
Visitation will be at Valhalla Funeral Home in Midfield on Thursday, September 2nd from 12:00 until 2:00 pm with the chapel service following at 2:00 pm. Burial will be in Valhalla Cemetery
