Obituary

Ms. Blanche Dye Yarbrough, age 91 of Bessemer, Al. passed away on January 30, 2013 at a local hospital.
Born in Bicknell, Indiana in 1921, she joined the U.S. Navy during WWII; where she worked in the Hospital Corp. She met James L. Yarbrough in Memphis, TN in 1945 and they married on December 1, 1945. They settled down in Birmingham in 1955, where they called home. Ms. Yarbrough was a former Girl Scout leader and a Sunday school teacher. She was a Christian, a former member of Fairfield Highland United Methodist Church and Midfield 1st United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband: James L. Yarbrough, mother: Jessie A. Dye, and sister: Opal Ruggles and Grace Hick.

She is survived by her daughter: Rachel Y. Boley (Skip), grandchildren: Angela Faith Boley (Ben) and Melody Hope Schmutz (Arron), great granddaughter: Dianna Hope Schmutz, one brother-in-law, three sister-in-laws, and a numerous of nieces and nephews throughout the U.S.

Funeral services will be held at Valhalla Funeral Home, Monday February 4th, 2013 at 11am with a visitation from 10am to 11am.
