Carl Anthony Royer was born on June15, 1974 to the late Carl Edmundson and Catherine Long Royer in Bronx, New York where he resided until December 2008 when the family decided to relocate to Bessemer, Alabama to be near family. He later moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he established his own business as a contractor.

Carl was preceded in death by his father. He departed his earthly life on June 5, 2022.

He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving mother, Catherine Long Royer of Bessemer, Al; one son, Se'Quan MarQuise Royer (Kiara); two grandsons, Kamari Marquise Royer and Zachary D. Gartrell II all of Jacksonville, Florida; one brother, Malik Royer; one sister, LaCorra Royer (Garvell); one nephew, DaShawn Royer; two nieces, Shaniece Royer and Skylar Royer; grandmother, Leathia Long (Warren) all of Bessemer, Al ; three aunts, Rosie Moorer(Arthur) of Stroudsburg, Pennsyvania; Belinda Jones, and Janice Sims (Otis), both of Bessemer, Al; two uncles, David Long (Patricia), Jerrill Long (Beulah), both of Bessemer, Al; fiancé, Kimberly Bean of Atlanta, Ga; and a host of cousins, family and friends.
