age 77, of Birmingham, passed away on January 26, 2008 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Sadie Hardin, sister, Bobbie Blanchard and sons Mark and Carey Phillips. Joyce is survived by her husband of 58 years, Hassell Phillips, son, Robert E. Phillips (Suzanne), daughter, Valerie Chramer (Paul), grandchildren, Kimberly Phillips, Jonathan, Laura and Elisabeth Chramer, sister, Linda Hardin and brother, Harry Hardin. Joyce was fun loving, full of life and an inspiration to all who knew her. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank her many friends at the Cahaba Heights and Hueytown locations of the Church of Christ for their many prayers offered in her behalf. The family would also like to express their appreciation to the caring staff at the Village at Cook Springs, Sunset Unit, and the Oaks on Parkwood, Orchard Unit. Last but not least, to the Family Comfort Hospice Group for their tender care and assistance, Thank You. Funeral Services will be held at Valhalla Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at 10 a.m. with burial in Valhalla cemetery. Mr. Bill Couchman officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2008 from 5 until 7 p.m. Pallbearers will be Jack Barr, James Ray, Billy Holliday, James Phillips, Paul and Jonathan Chramer.
