Meadows, Carolyn S., age 71 of Bessemer died Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at her residence.

Mrs. Meadows was a native and life long resident of Jefferson County where she retired from Richard''s Market. She was preceded in death by her husband, son, daughter, and a brother.

She is survived by two sons, Randy Meadows (Jewel) and Michael Meadows (Rhonda), Grandchildren, Stephanie Meadows, Kayla Milam, Greg Meadows, and Hunter Meadows; six great grandchildren; six sisters, Linda Bearden (Lewis), Wanda Cobb (Eugene), Nellie Faye Hamrick, Gwen Johnson (Roger), Donna Cone (Joe), and Barbara Marler (Wayne); two brothers, Robin Fowler, and Edward Fowler (Sandra); a sister-in-law, Dorathia Fowler (Doodle) and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services will be Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at Valhalla Funeral Home Chapel at 1 P.M. with the Rev. Richard Marler and the Rev. Lewis Bearden officiating. Burial will be in Valhalla Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 24, 2014 from 6-8 P.M. at Valhalla Funeral Home.
