DeFoor, Cecil L., age 79, of Bessemer, AL, passed away Monday, September 15, 2008. He was a member of South Highland Baptist Church. He was retired from U.S. Steel with 38 years of service. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Funeral Services will be held at Valhalla Funeral Home Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with burial in Highland Memorial Gardens. Bro. Alan Kendricks officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 17, 2008 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Addie DeFoor and his brothers, Loy DeFoor, JR DeFoor, John Jr. DeFoor and Frank DeFoor. He is survived by his wife, Ruby G. DeFoor; his daughter, Cecilia Whaley (Frank); his sons, Terry DeFoor (Jerrie Lynn) and Lance DeFoor (Vickie); his grandchildren, Anna McCaslin (Matt), Andy Whaley, Shawn DeFoor (Kori Freeman) and Shane DeFoor (Britni); two great grandchildren, Lexi DeFoor and Hudson McCaslin; his sister, Wilma Knowles; special thanks to all of his nephews and nieces and also Family Comfort Hospice.
