Mary Charlene Beck Spruiel went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, September 18, 2018, after a long illness.  She was the oldest of four siblings and is survived by her son, Jerry W. Spruiel (Annie), daughter Jeanne S. Cathell (Steve), three grandchildren, Heather J. Stiff (Jason), Johnson D. Spruiel, and
Katie V. Cathell and two great grandchildren, Rachel Sidebottom and Gabriel Sidebottom.  She also is survived by her sister, Jacquelyn B. Thomas and numerous nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Spruiel was predeceased by her parents, Charlie Johnson Beck and Ruby Velera Beck, her brothers Joe Beck and Ron Beck and her husband, Dick Spruiel.

Mrs. Spruiel was born in Dora, Alabama, June 29, 1925, and lived most of her life in Birmingham.  She is retired from Amsouth Bank (now Regions) and moved to Marietta, Georgia, in 1999 to live with family when her health deteriorated.  She loved the Lord and her greatest desire was to share that love with others.

Graveside services celebrating her life are at Valhalla Funeral Home 5317 Bessemer Super Highway, Midfield, Alabama 35228 Friday, September 22 at 11:30 a.m. with one hour visitation before.  In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Johnson Ferry Baptist, 955 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta, Georgia 30068 .
