Charles Russell Lee Raymond, age 70 of Gadsden, AL went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 12, 2017, surrounded by his family and friends with his wife at his bedside. He had health issues he just couldn''t overcome.
Charles was the late Russell and Jane Raymond''s first son; he was an avid hunter, fisherman and worked 35 years for the railroad, the last 5 as an engineer before retiring.
Charles was preceded in death by his parent and one daughter, Glynis who passed away in 2007.
Charles leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 7 ½ years, Jenny Philllips Raymond; son, Russell (Lisa) Raymond; stepchildren, Jay (Kim) Smith, Jeff Smith and Jill (Ralph) Boatwright; 10 grandchildren; brothers, Fred (Delilah), Arlie (Elizabeth) Kimbrell; one sister, Linda (Bubba) Pranil. A special thank you to Linda who has been a big help in taking care of Charles. Sleep in Peace my sweet prince.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 15th from 11 am until the 1 pm funeral hour at the Chapel of Valhalla Funeral Home.
