Charles Ross Torbert, Jr., age 94, a long time resident of Jefferson Co. AL went to be home with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, September 21, 2014.

Mr. Torbert was retired from US Steel Corp and served his country with honor in the Navy during WWII. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Minnie Torbert, his loving wife; Bessie Nell (Pair) and seven brothers and sisters

Survivors include: Daughters Lynne Falkner (Wayne) and Vicki Love (Richard); Son Kenneth (Pete) Torbert; Granddaughter Erin Falkner, Grandsons; Brandon Falkner (Merri Beth), Gavin Love (Melissa); four Great Grandchildren; Alyssa, Kaden, Emily and Jaxson; one sister-in-law, Betty Torbert; numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be Thursday, September 25, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at Valhalla Chapel with George Torbert officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery in Ensley with military honors. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 24, 2014 from 5-7 P.M. at Valhalla Funeral Home.
