Charlie Lewis Coleman, age 60 of Birmingham, died Thursday, January 29, 2015.
Mr. Coleman entered this life on December 14, 1954 to Nathaniel Coleman and Annie Mae Glaze Coleman who preceded him in death. He was a native and life long resident of Jefferson County where he retired from Alagasco with thirty-two years of service. He was a member of the Greater Temple Missionary Baptist Church where he served as an usher. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bruce and Michael Coleman.
Mr. Coleman is survived by his loving wife of thirty-seven years, Jennifer Coleman; two daughters, Belinda Coleman and Gabrielle Coleman; one son, Charlie Louis Coleman, Jr.; four grandchildren; three sisters, Annie Birl and Rosie Lee Coleman of Birmingham AL, Jeanette Coleman of Augusta, GA. and four brothers, Joseph Shepard of Benson, NC., Roosevelt Rumble (Theresa) of Seattle, WA., Larry Coleman and Curtis Coleman (Angela) of Birmingham, AL., and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on February 6, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Greater Temple Missionary Baptist Church, 300 4th Avenue West, Birmingham, Alabama 35204 with Rev. James A. Gibson, Jr. officiating. The viewing will be held on Thursday beginning at 12:00 noon until 4:00 P.M. at Valhalla Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Friday, February 6, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. until service time at the church. Burial will follow in Valhalla Cemetery.
