age 85, passed away on July 9, 2006 after an extended illness. She was known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as Granny Chris. She enjoyed reading and knitting. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Callie Upton and her brother J.W. Upton. She is survived by her daughter Marlene and her dearly loved son-in-law Dr. Charles Yates; grandchildren Stacy (Larry) Bradford, Chuck Yates, Dusty (Libba) Yates; great grandchildren Robert Hornbuckle, Callie Hornbuckle, Sarah Yates, Isabelle Yates; nieces Shelia Taylor, Nita Upton; nephew Jerome Upton. Special Thanks to medical Center East, 8th Floor nursing staff. A Memorial Serivce will be held at Noon on July 11, 2006. There will be a visitation from 11:00 am till Noon with a burial at Highland Memorial Gardens.
