Sweat, Christopher Flynn, age 38 of Bessemer passed away on Monday, December 16, 2013 in Bessemer.

Chris was a native and life long resident of Jefferson County where he worked as a welder. He was a graduate of Midfield High School where he was honorably mentioned with football and attended Beville State College where he received a Baseball Scholarship. He was a long time member of Fairfield Highlands Presbyterian Church and attended Chapel Hill Baptist Church. He was an avid Alabama Football Fan. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karissa Lynn Sweat.

Chris is survived by his wife, Melissa Warren Sweat; one son, Justin Flynn Sweat; parents, Harold Sweat (Julia) and his mother, Abby Sweat; one sister, Brandy Sweat Lenning (Tony); nieces and nephews, Brandon Allen, Corey Allen, Abby Allen, and Nikki Lenning.

Services will be Friday, December 20, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Valhalla Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Fritz Hardin officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, December 20, 2013 from 12 noon to 2:00 P.M. at Valhalla Funeral Home.
