Toxey, Christy Mitchelle , age 40, of McCalla, AL, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2009. Mitchelle was a graduate of U.A.B. with a B.A. in early childhood education and an M.A. in learning disabilities. She was a talented lampworking artist and a wire sculpture designer. She was a member of the International Society of Glass Bead Makers. She was a loving daughter with a close and special bond with her parents. Mitchelle dearly loved and adored Lauren, Chris and Elizabeth, who were always the light of her life. Despite her own challenges with on going health problems she encouraged others to make the best of their situation. Funeral Services will be held at Valhalla Funeral Home Monday, August 17, 2009 at 12:00 Noon with burial in Valhalla Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 16, 2009 from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. She is survived by her parents, Alfred Eugene Toxey, Jr. and Linda Bearden Toxey; two brothers, Gene Toxey his wife Kim and their son Chris and Derek Toxey his wife, Heather and their children, Lauren and Elizabeth, and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Chelle, you were taken away too soon but are no longer in pain. Our hearts will always love and cherish our special memories with you.
