was born in Noxubee County, Mississippi, April 30, 1936 to the late Annie Mae Peterson Heard and JC Stewart. She departed this life at 12:35 a.m. on May 13, 2007 at her home. She was a member of Zion City Missionary Baptist Church, Zion City Ala.
She was preceded in death by her husband the late Will Hamilton. She leaves to cherish her memories: three sisters, Annie Ruth Bell and Willie Mae Broady both of Columbus, MS and Addie (Ike) Moore of Champagne, IL; four aunts; Georgia L. Samuel of East Stl. IL, Laura M. Smith and Carrie Smith both of Kankakee, IL and Ollie B. Washington of Wisconsin; and one uncle, Johnny L. Washington of Wisconsin.
She also leaves to cherish her memories: seven sons, Joe (Ada) Clay, Hueytown, AL, Bobby Lee (Sandra) Clay of Birmingham, AL, Leon (Nell) Clay of Birmingham, AL, Earnest (Sarah) Files of Alex City AL, Jessie Jr. Johnson of Birmingham, AL, Jackie J. (Cynthia) Clay of Birmingham, AL, Willie Frison Jr. of Birmingham, AL; four daughters, Sherry J. Johnson of Birmingham, AL, Annie N. (The Late Gregory) Tremble of Columbus, MS, Lynda L. (Bubba) Thomas of Birmingham, AL, Tanga Rena Temple of Birmingham, AL; she also leaves a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 17th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Service will be held at Valhalla Funeral Home Chapel Friday, May 18th at 2:00 p.m.
