Darla Sherry Dobyne

Darla Sherry Dobyne, age 59, of Calera passed away on Friday, November 27, 2015 at the VA Hospital in Birmingham.

Darla was a native and resident of Jefferson County most of her life and served her nation in the United States Army. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Patsy Dobyne and a brother Edward Dobyne, Jr.

She is survived by her step mother, Tommie Lee Dobyne; five sisters, Kathi Adkins, Tami Kruk, Terrie Simpkins, Garnett Steppe, and Jana Fulcher; three brothers, Richard Dobyne, Allen Dobyne, and Sidney Vanderslice; numerous nieces and nephews; two special nieces and caregivers, April Gray and Niki Dobyne.

Services will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Valhalla Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Valhalla Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 P.M. on Monday, November 30, 2015 at the funeral home.
