Deborah Ann Carroll, age 70 of McCalla, Alabama,passed away on June 7,2023 after a
short illness. Deborah lived most of her life in the McCalla/McAdory area,and
graduated from McAdory in 1971.
Deborah began her work life in Birmingham for the Auburn University Engineering Extension
office and retired from Auburn when that office closed. She soon started her second career with
the Social Security Administration where she worked until her final retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents J.C. Carroll,Jr. and Orlene Hobbs
Carroll. She is survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. She is also survived
by 3 very special ladies who she considered her "adopted" sisters, Rhoda Lease
(Dean), Sheila Barrow (Jeff) and Janice Knight. Deborah made lifelong friendships
with many people who are going to sorely miss that vivacious personality and
smile. Lastly Deborah is survived by her beloved Fur-Baby,Sam.
A visitation will be held Monday,June 12,2023 from 12:30-1:30pm,with services celebrating her life starting at  1:30pm in the chapel of Valhalla Funeral Home with burial in Valhalla Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers,memorial donations to Kitty Kat Haven and Rescue (3432 Old
Coumbiana Rd,Hoover AL 35226) are suggested.
