Deborah Irene Dewing passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2023. She was loved deeply by her family and friends, many of whom knew her as "Mama Deb". Deb spent her childhood years in Missouri and graduated from Lee's Summit High School in 1972. She loved music, was an avid reader, cheered for every Alabama sport, adored her family, and, most importantly, she knew and loved Jesus. Though the past several years have been filled with the loss of both of her parents and her own health struggles, she remained full of hope that one day she would be reunited with them and free from her earthly pain because of Jesus' love in saving her. Deb worked for over 20 years at Jim Burke and looked forward to seeing her friends there every day. She has so many adopted children and friends from her years there that she missed seeing since her retirement in 2019.
Deb is preceeded in death by her cherished parents, Betty Joyce and Bob Drew. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Keith, and their children Tammy Glover (Howard), KC Dewing, and Nick Dewing (Felecia). Deb's favorite role and source of enormous joy was that of Mamaw. She has six beautiful grandchildren that always brought a smile to her face. Marianna, Ash, Olivia, Zakariah, Addison, and
Lillian were loved more than they will ever know! Deb is also survived by her devoted sister, Marianne Nichols, who has cared for and loved her so faithfully for many years. She also has a large extended family with nephew, Judson (Rachel) Nichols, niece, Nina (Steve) Cater, many aunts and uncles and more cousins than stars. The family would like to thank the many doctors and nurses who have cared for our Deb. There will be a visitation on Friday, July 28, 2023 from 10-2 at Valhalla Funeral Home in Midfield. Everyone is welcome to come and celebrate a life well lived!
