Obituary

Delories Moore Little entered this life on July 22, 1930, and departed on November 20, 2022. She was
the daughter of Ben and Lillie Mae Moore, and spent her childhood in Vossburg, Mississippi, where she
accepted Christ at an early age at the Coke's Chapel Methodist Church. She attended Jackson State
University (Jackson, MS), with a focus on Education. Seeking greater opportunities for their family, her
parents relocated to Birmingham, Alabama. It was in Birmingham that she met and married Henry
Montgomery Little. After devoting many years to raising and nurturing four children, she was
determined to complete her college education, and did so by earning her bachelor's degree in Education
from the historic Danial Payne College in Birmingham, AL.
Mrs. Little was a devoted Christian, and provided her children with the spiritual and moral foundation
necessary to succeed in life. She was a woman of strong faith and possessed a melodious voice. She
could often be heard singing her favorite hymns and gospel songs, such as "Amazing Grace" and
"Precious Lord, Take My Hand." She was also a compassionate woman, and spent many years working
with physically and mentally disabled children at United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Birmingham (formerly
Spastic Aid of Alabama, now known as United Ability).
Delories was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Lillie Mae Moore, and her siblings, Bennie J.
Moore and Ruth Moore Green. She leaves to cherish four children: three sons, Larry, Eric (Rosalind) and
Reginald (Lavora); one daughter, Melody McDonald, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren,
nieces, nephews and cousins.
