Dion Parker, of Bessemer, AL passed away in a local hospital on Sunday, February 20, 2022. Dion will be forever remembered for his superb command of sarcasm and his fantastic ability to make people laugh. Formerly employed by Walter Coke as an industrial electrician, Dion valued his family and amassed a wealth of friendships over the years.

A loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Dion leaves many behind to mourn his passing. Dion is survived by his wife, Shunya Blakely Parker; children Timothy (Lauren), Matthew (Kelsey), Caleb (Falyn), and Kaleigh Parker; sister, Diona Parker Dickerson; and grandfather, Carl Bowen.
Dion was preceded in death by his parents, William H. , Jr. and Carolyn Bowen Parker. Dion is also survived by his beautiful grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Services for Dion will be held on Friday, February 25, at Smithville Baptist Church, 9308 Toadvine Rd., Bessemer, AL. Family will be received at 2 pm with a Celebration of Life service to follow at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Smithville Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society in his memory.
