Donald Earl Deason, Sr., age 72 of Calera died Tuesday, September 02, 2014 at his residence.

Mr. Deason was native and life long resident of Jefferson County and a member of Pine Lane Church of Christ in Bessemer. He formerly worked with Pullman Standard and retired from Home Baking.

He is survived by his wife, Waynelle Deason; a son, Donald Deason, Jr. (Patricia); a daughter, Leigh Ann Rodgers (Dale); 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at 12 noon at Valhalla Cemetery with Reginald Ginn officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 3, 2014 from 5-7 P.M. at Valhalla Funeral Home.
