age 87, of Rock Creek, AL, went to be with her Lord on October 16, 2007. She was born in Gardendale, AL on Sept. 28, 1920. She graduated from Vincent High School in 1937 and retired from AmSouth Bank in 1982. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held at Valhalla Funeral Home on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at 10:30 AM with burial in Valhalla Cemetery. Her grandson Steve Vice will officiate. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2007, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Preceding her in death were her parents, John and Nettie Perkins; husband, Cecil Carl "Skeet" Weldon; brother, J.E. Perkins; sister, Annie Bell Folsom; precious daughters, Virginia Laird and Marie Weaver and granddaughter, Lynda Laird. Loved ones left to cherish her memory are her brother, Sidney Perkins; daughter, Linda (Joe) Melton; son, Carl Weldon; sons-in-law, Bob Weaver and George Laird; grandchildren, Theresa (Steven) Hambright, Jodi (Brian) Barsanti, Toni Johnston, Karen Laird, Chris (Hope) Laird, Donna (Ed) Schroeder, Debbie (Steve) Vice, Phillip (Raquel) Melton and Randy Melton; great grandchildren, Cheree Melton, Katie Hambright, Chloe Barsanti, Stephanie Harper, Faith and Christian Laird, Holly, Kyle and James Schroeder, Jamie, Alex, Sarah, Nathan and Andrew Vice, Kristin and Alyson Melton; special nieces, Joan, Brenda and Vella and many other nieces and nephews and her husbands beloved family in Chelsea, AL .
