Braswell, Dorothy M., age 92, a life long resident of McCalla, AL, passed away Monday, May 4, 2009. She was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an avid collector and lover of dolls and a talented award winning quilter. Funeral Services will be held at Valhalla Funeral Home Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with burial in Valhalla Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 6, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Rev. Bruce McCartney officiating. She was preceded in death by William Jefferson "Bill" Braswell. She is survived by her sons, Jeffery Braswell, Bill (Linda) Braswell and Wendell (Sonya) Braswell; her daughter Jerry (Walton) Allinder; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sisters, Mary Shadrick of Norman, OK and Jessleen Clack of Charleston, SC; and Clara Hawkins, an extended family member, caregiver, housekeeper and loving friend of the family.
