Edith Virginia Emerson Pate, age 90 of Birmingham, Al went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 16, 2014. She was a member of The Birmingham Gospel Tabernacle and later a member of Forestdale Alliance Church.

Preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Lee Pate; son, Kenneth Wayne Pate, daughter, E. Renee Pate; granddaughter, Stephanie Gail Shirley; father, W.R. Emerson; mother, Bernice Thompkins; 3 sisters and 1 brother.

Survivors, 4 children, Virginia Lee Wilson (Jim), A.L. (Bo) Pate (Gail), R. Clayton Pate (Mollie), Debra Lynne Moon. 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Sisters, Jeanette Jones, Helen Dison, and Patricia Day. Many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on May 20, 2014 at Valhalla Funeral Home for 2pm. There will be a visitation held one hour prior to funeral from 1 to 2pm. Internment will take place at Valhalla Cemetery. Brother Curtis Pace officiating.
