Eloise G. "Wezzie" Nelson, age 84, of Bessemer, AL died Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at UAB West Hospital in Bessemer.

Mrs. Nelson was a native and life long resident of Bessemer where she was a 1948 graduate of Hueytown High School and was active with her class reunions. She was a former member of the Bessemer Garden Club and the Ladies Bowling League. Mrs. Nelson retired from Sears and Roebuck Company with twenty-seven years of service. She was a member of the Westside Baptist Church in Bessemer. Mrs. Nelson was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest L. Nelson and two brothers, A. J. Garner and L. C. "Dog" Garner.

Mrs. Nelson is survived by two daughters, Debbie McMahon and Karen Hadaway (Tim); two sons, Johnny Wayne Nelson (Linda) and Don T. Nelson (Ronda); twelve grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

Services will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 2 P.M. at Valhalla Chapel with Rev. Tony Savage officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home prior to the service.
