Gary Michael Pair,64,of Hoover exchanged time for eternity on Thursday,June 29,2023. Gary was born to the parentage of Hubert G.& the late Laura Elizabeth Pair on May 30,1959.Gary graduated from E.B. Erwin High School, then attended Jefferson State Junior College and Bessemer State Junior College, receiving an Associate in Business, preparing him for his HVAC career.
Known as the grill master by the family, Gary's passion for serving dishes everyone enjoyed was sparked
by his first job at Mr. Steak. From that point forward, his passion for people only grew, as he became the
go to for almost any type of home and auto repair, working his way up through multiple banking
institutions. His career began at Star Mechanical 1989, working in commercial/industrial heating and air
conditioning. His next career move in 1992 was to CB Richard Ellis as Building Engineer, managing a
200,000 square foot data center at a newly built Regions data center. In 2004, Gary became Operations
Manager for Jones Lang LaSalle, managing the Mechanical and Electrical portfolio for BBVA Compass
Banks. He retired in 2013 as Energy Project Manager with CB/Richard Ellis, working on the Regions
account in development and implementation of energy projects.
Gary's favorite hobbies and loves included spending time with his family and friends, taking specialized
orders, and grilling everyone's favorite foods. He loved lake time and his boat, beach time and seafood,
and listening to his favorite bands, including Lynyrd Skynyrd. He enjoyed Sunday afternoons, watching
racing and westerns. He enjoyed helping his friends with air conditioning servicing and home projects.
He enjoyed and was often known to repair an air conditioner for someone who didn't have the money
to pay. He was always eager to offer advice to a friend or family member needing a little help.
Gary loved God and we know there is a happy reunion in heaven, with Jesus, his precious mom and
others gone before him.
Gary met his wife at BBVA Compass in 2008, and they were married at Sandals in Jamaica March 21,
2011. He is survived by his loving wife Susan, his father, Hubert G. Pair; son, David Pair (Catherine) and two granddaughters, Julia
