Gary "Deke" Miller, age 26, of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky died Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.

Deke was a native of Madison County, Alabama, where he lived in Huntsville most of his life. He resided in Kentucky for the past three years. He was associated with The Muscular Dystrophy Association serving as a voluntary spokesperson. He was active in The Miracle League, sporting events for special needs youth, and was a dedicated Auburn fan. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Tom Stewart, and an uncle, Rick Stewart.

Deke is survived by his mother, Tami Bailey; father Allan Miller; grandmother, Peggy Stewart; grandparents, Jerry and Brenda Brainerd; a sister, Amber Johnson; and an uncle, Scotty Stewart.

Services will be Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Valhalla Funeral Home with Rev.Willie Diggs officiating. Burial will follow in Valhalla Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. at Valhalla Funeral Home.
