Kaye Boartfield Riley, age 71, a resident of Self Nursing Home, passed away peacefully the morning of January 11.   Kaye grew up in Fairfield Highlands (now Midfield), graduated from Hueytown High School and worked as a Unit Clerk at Carraway Hospital for 20 plus years where the doctors, nurses and staff were like family.  In 2013 Kaye had a massive stroke and subsequently became a nursing home resident.  Kaye was born December 19, 1949 eight minutes after her twin sister was born.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Ophelia Boartfield and a brother Charles Boartfield.  She is survived by her son, Lamar Riley, grandsons Brent and Brandon Riley and their mother Dena Riley, twin sister Faye Wilkes (Jeff), sisters Betty Dollar (Sonny), Lois Cash (David), brothers Ray Boartfield (Dottie) and Curtis (Bubba) Boartfield (Rachel). Due to Covid, the family will have a private service.  In lieu of flowers please make contributions to Fairfield Highlands Presbyterian Church in Midfield or to your favorite charity.
