George Eugene Edwards, Jr, age 50 of Bessemer, AL passed away on August 26, 2021. "Gene" as he was affectionately known was born on October 24, 1970; he was the son of George Eugene Edwards, Sr. and Patricia Edwards Phillips.

He survived by parents, George Eugene Edwards, Sr. and his mother, Patricia Phillips; one son, Cole Edwards; two sisters, Gretchen Jones and Laura Dawson and their families; grandmother, Miriam Edwards, one aunt, Vaunda Leonard and one uncle, Jesse Edwards and their families; cousins, Jessica Stewart and Jim Veitch and many other families and friends.

Gene was an avid sports fan who loved his Auburn Tigers and cooking. He will be remembered for his love of Auburn football, just like his grandfather and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
