Georgia H. Slye, age 86 of Helena, AL, passed away on Sunday, July 27th.

She was retired from the State of Alabama with 17yrs of service. She spent many years working as the secretary for Judge Ralph Coleman at the Bessemer City Court House. She also was a longtime member of Helena United Methodist Church, and my oh my did she LOVE TO DANCE as a longtime member of The Arabs Dance Club.

She is survived by her 3 children, Terry Boren (Jane) of Tucson, AZ, Mike Boren (Leslie) of Pinson, AL, and Kathy Whiddon (Paul) of Stapleton, AL. Eight grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Services for Ms. Slye will be held at Valhalla Cemetery as a graveside service on Wednesday July 30th at 2pm. There will be a visitation held at Valhalla Funeral Home one hour prior to the graveside service. Internment will follow at Valhalla Cemetery.
