Gerald Lee Heaton went home to be with his Lord, in the early hours of Monday, January 18, 2021. He was born on February 6, 1943 in Birmingham, AL to his late parents George Wesley and Ruby Parker Heaton. Mr Heaton was preceded in death by his brother Joe Heaton and leaves behind two brothers ; Charles Heaton (Pat) and Ronnie Heaton (Terri).

Mr Heaton served in the US Army and served as a deacon at Canaan Baptist Church, where he was currently a member. He also attended Fairfield Highlands Baptist Church.  Mr. Heaton retired from the Alabama Power Company and was part of the local Gideon Ministry serving bibles to those at Draper Prison.

Gerald loved God and his love extended to his family and friends. He was a dedicated and loving husband to his wife of 55 years, Patsy Lynn Heaton and wonderful father to his four daughters; Christa Lodico (Joe), Rebekah Harmon (Todd), Joy Morris (Ken), Jennifer Close (Jason). He was also a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren; Sarah Morris, Jerrod Diffley (Crystal), Justin Diffley, Shelby Diffley, Noah Harmon, Logan Close and Lily Close and 2 great grandchildren; Lana Swann and Hudson Diffley.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, January 20, 2021, 2:00 PM at Valhalla Cemetery with Rev. Ed Cruce officiating.  All who wish to attend are welcome.
