Gloria Nicholson, age 95, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 4, 2021. Gloria's greatest joy was her family. Sh e was a loving and devote d wife , mother, and grandmother and spent h er life giving to and caring for others . She was a n active member of the former Second Baptist Churc h in Bessemer , AL and most recently, T he Baptist Church at Mc Adory. Gloria was a talented seamstress and was able to creat e bridesmaid s and wedding gowns from a blank canvas as well as completing simple alterations. She also made numerous , detailed counted-cross-stitch pictures that resembled life-like portraits . Making hand-made quilts was another of her remarkable talents . She was preceded in death by h er husband , Warren Nicholson , her daughter Linda Nicholson , and her son Jerry Nicholso n . She is survived by h er daughter-in-law , Cindy Nicholson; h er beloved grand children , Courtney N. Still and Clint Nicholson ; her future great-grandson, Nick Still ; s ister Edna Johnson Brooks ; and a number of other loving family members and friends. Visitation will be on Monday, October 11 t h from 1 2 until 1p.m . at the Valhalla Funeral Home Chapel with a graveside service following in Valhalla Cemetery , officiated by Bro. Bill McCall .
