On June 8, 2021, Gordon Alan Hallmark, brother, son, uncle, and dear friend to many, passed away at the age of 73 years. Alan was born on May 16, 1948 to Gordon and Catherine Hallmark in Birmingham, AL.
After surviving polio at the age of six, Alan spent his life defying the odds and living to the fullest. During his life, Alan obtained an Associate's Degree in Accounting from the University of Alabama in Birmingham, owned and operated multiple businesses in Jefferson County, and acted as a brother, uncle and father figure to many. He enjoyed having a draft beer with friends, sunny days on the beach at Port St. Joe, and dancing to Jimmy Buffett.
He was preceded by his father, Gordon Silvey Hallmark and his brother, Harry Lee Smith. He is survived by his mother, Catherine Clardy Hallmark, his sisters, Patricia Hallmark Downing and Kim Hallmark Baumgartner, their spouses, 5 nieces and nephews and 3 great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held at Bluff Park Methodist Church on Saturday, June 12 at 12:00 pm. There will be no viewing or visitation.
