Gregory Alan Merchant, age 57, of Bessemer died August 13. 2016 in Bessemer.

Mr. Merchant was a native and life long resident of Jefferson County where he formerly worked for Barber Dairy. He was a graduate of Jones Valley High School and was a member of First Baptist Church of Chalkville, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Lila Merchant.

He is survived be one brother, Johnnie F. Merchant, Jr. (Frankie) and a host of cousins.

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 1:00 P.M. at Highland Cemetery in Bessemer. There will not be a visitation.
