SIMS, HARRY GROVER, JR., age 92, of Midfield, Alabama, was born August 17, 1923 in Eros, Louisiana and went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, October 23, 2015.

He retired from U.S.Steel after 40 years, but he never retired from serving the Lord. At the time of his death, he was Minister of Evangelism & Education at Fairfield Highlands Baptist Church and still encouraging everyone he met to "Remember, Jesus loves you!"

He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Allen K. Sims. Survivors include daughters, Sharon S. Hudgins of McCalla and Jacalyn D. Sims of Midfield; son, H. Thomas Sims (Debbie) of Jasper; grandchildren, Brian Hudgins (Angel) of McCalla; Brandi Green (Trey) of Morris; Jarad Sims (Destyni) of Morris; Teri Sims of Birmingham; Daniel Sims of Birmingham; great grandchildren, Sadie Johnson, Madalyn Green, Harrison Hudgins, Mia Walton, Skyler Sims and Kalyn Sims.

Visitation will be at the Church on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 from 5:30-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation from 10:00 to 11:00. Private burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Bro. Ed Cruce officiating.
