Mr. Harvey Gray Young, 92 of Bessemer, Alabama passed away Thursday February 6th, 2020 at UAB Hospital in Bessemer, AL.

Born in Jefferson County, Alabama on December 7, 1927. He was a retired Boilermaker with US Steel.

Mr. Young enjoyed Woodworking, Welding, Gardening, Fishing and traveling.

He attended Union Hill Baptist Church Concord, Alabama.

Mr. Young was a Veteran of the US Navy serving on the USS Cowpens Aircraft Carrier during the years 1944-1947.

Mr. Young was the son of the late Thomas Carl and Ola Mae Young of Bessemer, Alabama.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life of 36 years Nellie Young, 2 brothers James and Boyd Young , 2 sisters Bernice York and Mary Stewart.

Survivors include A Daughter Pamela Sinclair of Bessemer, AL and a Son Michael Young of Bessemer, AL, 9 Grandchildren Amy Mitchell (Paul), Kellie Hubbard (Kip), Shannon Young, Melissa Knowels (Randal), Amanda Liana (Matt), Betsy Freeman (Tommy), Carrie Lewis (Michael), Sherri Doyle (Jimmy), Jamie Vandover, 15 Great Grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services for Mr.Young will be held Monday February 10, 2020, 2:00 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 12:00 PM until service time at the funeral home.

Interment will follow in the Valhalla Cemetery.,
