Helen Sue Martin, age 81, went to be with her Lord on Monday, January 1, 2018. She was a native of Walker County and a resident of Jefferson County most of her life. She began her career as a beautician in her early adult years and owned and operated the Style Shop for over thirty-five years in Sylvan Springs where she lived the past forty seven years. She was a member of Maytown Baptist Church

Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her parents, Hansford Alexander and Pauline Alexander House; four sisters and a brother.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Guy Martin; one daughter, Jennifer Brooks (Rob); two step daughters, Cynthia Rickett (Clarence) and Pamela Renaud; four grandchildren, Ben, Carrie, Cassie and Carlie; four great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 12 noon at Valhalla Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ed Cruce officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon prior to the service and also following the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Valhalla Cemetery.
