Martha Helen Blackstone Maxwell, age 89 of Vestavia, AL passed away on May 21, 2014.

Mrs. Maxwell was a long time resident of Pleasant Grove, AL. She attended Fairfield High School and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was loving, joyful and compassionate, and she touched the hearts of everyone around her. She is preceded in death by her husband and best friend, William Louis Maxwell, Sr.

Mrs. Maxwell is survived by her children, Becky Lewis (Dan), Judy Lorino (Paul) and Bill, Jr. (Carol), grandchildren Kim Miller (Bill), Ginger Kerby (Jacob), Angela Maxwell, Holly Lorino, Ashley Lewis, and John Maxwell, and great-grandchildren, Will Miller, McKenzie Kerby, and Harrison Kerby.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Valhalla Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Daven Watkins officiating. Burial will be in Valhalla Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 24, 2014 from 9:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at Valhalla Chapel
