Mrs. Helen Fay Speakman of Bessemer passed away on July 2, 2024, at the age of 91. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 8, 2024, at 1pm at Valhalla Cemetery in Midfield, Alabama, with Russell Lowry officiating.
Helen "Fay" was born in Morgan County on July 3, 1932, to Roy Buren and Mary Annie Bridges. She was preceded in death by her husband, TL Speakman; brother, Truman Bridges; and sister, Adell Byford.
Mrs. Speakman was a dedicated member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. Previously, she served as Secretary at Fairfield Highlands United Methodist Church, and also for the United Methodist Parish, for many years before her retirement.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Lowry (Russell) of Talladega, AL; granddaughter Leah; sisters Saralene Moore (Robert) of Huntsville, AL, and Joyce Dudley (Melvin) of Chattanooga, TN.
